Kathy Obenchain is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Specialties (EDS) specializing in K-12 social studies education. She earned her Ph.D. at Purdue University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social studies education, civic education, as well as general courses in teacher education. Bob Ives is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Specialties (EDS) focusing on special education. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in educational assessment, research methods, and special education. Launie Gardner teaches 11th and 12th grade English and social studies at Truckee Meadows Community College High School. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching English (MATE) from the University of Nevada, Reno.
